Success on GCSE Results Day!
Impressive Results Secure Students Brighter Futures
Students from The Hinckley School were once again celebrating success on GCSE Results Day, with this year's results helping the Class of 2026 secure their dream destinations. From apprenticeships and college courses to sixth form study, a high proportion of students have once again chosen to continue their seven-year journey at The Hinckley Sixth Form, with many also joining the new Coventry Rugby Pathway. Students achieved the outcomes required to build brighter futures and pursue careers in industries including law, film, digital security, and science.

Ollie is celebrating exceptional results after achieving an impressive nine GCSEs at grades 8 and 7. He admitted he was pleasantly surprised when he opened his results and described himself as "shocked and pleased" after all his hard work, including attending after-school classes and dedicating time to revision at home, paid off. After enjoying his Taster Day, he is now looking forward to studying Spanish, PE, Biology, and Psychology at The Hinckley Sixth Form as he works towards his ambition of studying Sport Science at Loughborough University.

Classmate Lyla woke up nervous on Results Day, but after opening her results and discovering she had achieved seven GCSEs at grades 9-7, including grade 9s in Art and English Language, she is now excited to progress to art college and pursue her ambition of working in the gaming industry.
A student who is a testament to the impact of strength of character, resilience, determination, and hard work is Charlotte. Her outstanding achievements include three grade 9s in English Language, English Literature, and Media Studies, alongside a grade 8 in Geography and a grade 7 in Maths. Charlotte is now excited to study Film, Ancient History, and Media at King Edward VI College as she pursues her dream of working in the film industry.

Two students who are now excited to combine their academic ambitions with their lifelong passion for rugby are Connor and Eddie, whose grades have secured them places at The Hinckley Sixth Form and spots on the new Coventry Rugby Pathway.
Connor achieved nine GCSEs at grades 9-6, including grade 9s in both Maths and Biology. He shared how proud he is of his achievements and how excited he is to begin his sixth form journey: "I'm looking forward to a fresh start. The Science Department has been very supportive and is a big reason why I've chosen to stay. The Rugby Pathway will also be a great opportunity for me to get noticed by leaders in English rugby."
Meanwhile, future rugby academy teammate Eddie has also secured the grades he needed to continue his journey at The Hinckley Sixth Form, as he hopes to follow in the footsteps of former students and secure a scholarship in the United States in the future. Eddie said: "I took part in Easter School, attended every half-term revision session, and had weekly one-to-one sessions with Mr Elvidge, which were really helpful. I would encourage anyone taking their exams to make the most of the extra opportunities the school provides.” Reflecting on his time at The Hinckley School, Eddie cited the Netherlands Sports Tour as his fondest memory, one he will remember for years to come.

One student who is now a step closer to achieving his dream of becoming a barrister is Noah, who secured an impressive set of GCSE results, achieving grades 8–6 across all of his subjects. His grades included a grade 8 in History, English Literature and Media. Noah shared: "I couldn't sleep before Results Day and even felt unwell, but I am now relieved and proud." He is now excited to study Law, English Literature and Media.
Another student now chasing his dream of working in the cybersecurity industry is Vadim, who has secured the grades needed to begin a T Level in Digital Support and Security. Having achieved grades including 8s in Maths, English Language, and English Literature, Vadim said his results exceeded his expectations and spoke positively about how much he has enjoyed his time at The Hinckley School, with fond memories of football as well as enjoying his classes.

Students shared mixed emotions of excitement and nerves as they reached the end of their five-year school journey and looked ahead to their next adventure. Bryan explained why he would now like to continue his studies at The Hinckley Sixth Form: "My time here has been brilliant. I have great relationships with teachers, they made lessons enjoyable, and I liked the sense of community."
Mrs Groocock, Headteacher, said: "We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students and all they have achieved. Today is a celebration of their hard work and determination, and it has been a pleasure to see their efforts rewarded with such well-deserved results.
These achievements reflect not only the commitment of our students but also the support of their families and the dedication of our staff, who have encouraged them every step of the way. We are particularly delighted that so many students have chosen to continue their journey with us at The Hinckley Sixth Form, which has been oversubscribed this year, and we look forward to welcoming them back as they begin the next exciting stage of their education.
The Class of 2026 has made a remarkable contribution to our school community. We have watched them grow into confident, ambitious young people, and we are excited to see what they will go on to achieve in the future. On behalf of everyone at The Hinckley School, I would like to congratulate them on their success and wish them every happiness and success in the years ahead."
