Open Evening 2026

Our student ambassadors shone during Open Evening!
Our students represented the school with pride on Wednesday 16th September during our Open Evening, as we welcomed a record number of families through our doors. Families commented on how friendly, informative, knowledgeable and warm our students were, describing them as ‘a credit to the school.’
The praise from guests did not stop there, as they also commented on how welcoming our staff were and how their passion for their subjects shone through. Other highlights included the impressive speeches by Eva in Year 13 and Jude in Year 8, who both spoke so eloquently about their experience at secondary school and tours of The Bridge, our Year 7 mini-school.
Every subject area was bustling with energy as staff led exciting activities to provide an insight into lessons and engaged in meaningful discussions about their curriculum and student support. From corn hole in PE to Physics experiments in Science, our guests loved the hands-on nature of the event, and we would like to sincerely thank everyone who played a part in making the evening such a success.
During the evening, visitors were able to listen to a talk by our Headteacher, Kate Groocock and Director of The Bridge, Laura Clarke, to gain insights into our school ethos, hear about 'The Bridge' mini-school and the sense of community and belonging our students enjoy. Guests also had the opportunity to find out more about the progress of our multi-million-pound STEAM new build which will officially open in February 2028.
It was a pleasure to showcase our school to so many local families and to see so many familiar faces, as many pupils returned with their families following our Year 5 and 6 events.
Thank you to everyone who joined us.
