STEM New Build for The Hinckley School
STEM New Build - Official Start Date Confirmed
I am delighted to share some exciting news regarding the future development of The Hinckley School. After extensive planning, consultation, and collaboration, I am pleased to confirm that work for our STEM new build project will officially start on 30th March 2026.
This multi-million-pound investment project represents a significant step forward for our school community. The new facilities will enhance our learning environment, support our long‑term vision for educational excellence, and provide modern, inspiring spaces that meet the needs of current and future students.
Our new building will house state‑of‑the‑art classrooms created for our science, technology, engineering, and maths departments. In addition, the building will feature brand new art and design studios, providing students with exceptional facilities in which to reach their full potential. Bringing art together with STEM subjects encourages students to make natural connections between imaginative design and practical problem‑solving, enriching their learning and ensuring that we prepare them for the ever‑evolving world of work.
The development involves a two-phase demolition and replacement of four existing teaching buildings, with the new build being located on the north-east of our school site. Split across three storeys, the impressive new build will feature expansive facilities for students.
I would like to reassure our community that The Hinckley School’s core value, ‘Students First’ has been considered throughout the planning process, with temporary accommodation to be provided to ensure that we remain at full operational capacity throughout the building project.
Over the coming months, we will continue to work closely with the Department for Education, architects, contractors, and the local authority to ensure the project progresses smoothly. We are committed to keeping you informed throughout each stage of the development. Regular updates will be shared via our website, and in school newsletters. Community forum events will also allow us to involve you in this exciting new chapter.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all those who have supported this project so far - staff, governors, parents, students, and community partners. Your continued support, enthusiasm and patience have played an essential role in bringing this vision to life.
I look forward to embarking on this exciting journey together and to celebrating the many milestones ahead.
